Happy 100th Post Day!

Today is exciting as it marks my 100th post! I must say I'm rather proud of myself for sticking with this here blog. It has really brought creativity back into my life. Thank you to everyone who has kept up with me, too, and has left such wonderful comments!

On that note, I have a little favor to ask those of you using RSS feeds (such as Google Reader). Would you mind popping on over here to the "real" blog for just a moment? My tracking program sadly does not count when people using readers read my blog, so I don't have an accurate measure of who's here. It will only take a few seconds and would really make my day. Like a "Happy 100th Post" present. :)

Anyway, I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. I got my haircut, which may sound strange since I'm trying to grow it out... but I have to grow out the top section first or else the bottom part will grow into a very unpleasant-looking mullet. After Saturday's cut, it looks somewhat like this:

Oh, if we could all be as glamorous as Twiggy...

I've been trying to be so patient. I just have to accept the fact that I'm not going to wake up with long locks again anytime soon; this is going to take awhile, and I have to be excited for the various stages in between the above look and a length that reaches the middle of my back.

For the time being, I'll be looking forward to my hair looking like this:

What about you? Have you ever had to go through the painstaking process of growing your hair out? How did you avoid the mullets and helmet hair?

  1. Congrats on the 100th post! Also, I love that haircut. I have cut and grown my hair out more times than I can count, and it's definitely a slow and impatient process. My stylist always says you need to cut it even when you're trying to grow it, but I hate that!

  2. I wish you could track people from google reader! It would make things much easier.

Congrats on the 100th post. It went by fast!

And I really like your hair short. I think it's adorable, but I understand the desire to have it long again. Either way you are beautiful!

  3. Congratulations! Oh, yes, I had problems growing my hair, now it's long, wavy and blond, i.e. just like I wanted it but... start thinking about having it cut at times...

  4. Once upon a time I decided my hair was looking shaggy and I desperately wanted it cut. However, I was in on vacation in Italy at the time, but I was so adamant that I decided to find a place there. The women at the salon I went to didn't speak any English, but I found a picture in one of their magazines and tried to explain to them that I wanted it like that but maybe an inch or so shorter. My hair is already a little above shoulder length, and I just wanted it like chin length. Well, after they finished blow drying it and turned me around to look at it, it was cheekbone length -- about 4 inches shorter than I would have liked. It was a great haircut though, just so not the length I wanted. The worst part was that my hair is naturally curly and it looked even shorter if I didn't dry my hair (which I didn't because I didn't have a hair dryer there). I kind of had mushroom head going on. I ended up getting really creative with pretty clips and after 6 months, it finally grew out to the length I originally wanted, but I did discover some really cool ways to wear my hair that I modified when it was longer. I would highly suggest finding some cool hair clips and just playing around with them one afternoon.

  5. My dear, you looked as beautiful bald and "moon faced" as you did healthy and long-haired in college. You will get your hair back sooner than you know it.

Congrats on the 100th post! Keep it up. I enjoy reading your swoonworthy posts! xoxo
