This past weekend, one of my best friends went to Pacific Northwest Ballet's production of Jewels, George Balanchine's tribute to the three golden ages of ballet (Emeralds, Rubies, and Diamonds, of course!). Her descriptions of the show triggered daydreams of the years I spent on-stage, flouncing around in tulle dresses and pointe shoes under the bright lights.
